August 9, 2014
This morning we woke really early so that we could go to Sherwood Forest.  It was awesome.  I took loads of photos! We saw the Castle, Robin Hood’s statue, everything!

Morning training started earlier today. We began with some pommel. The recreational kids were on the main floor so we just work around them a little bit.  Next was conditioning.  Everyone, even the big boys, was really tired.

First event was parallel bars.  It went really well for me.  I worked on Stutz to handstand then moys, then did my first independent tippelt!  Lee helped with corrections and I was getting it quite well. After that I did some high bar tkatchevs (not catching) for practice.  We didn’t stay on high bar too long.

I managed a little vault practice with my sore foot…just on the fast track over a block, into the pit.  I did tucked yurchenkos.  Then I moved to tumbling on fast track. There I did front layout, front layout, 1 ½, back layout 1/2, connected to front layout 1/1, and back layout 1 ½ connected to front tuck then back layout 1 ½ connected to front layout. It was a good set.

We ended on pommel.  It is still hard with my wrist but I did some two handle work and some step up on mushroom with one handle to stocklis. Lee was giving me good corrections.

Carol-Angela picked us up and took us back to her home for a restful afternoon. I needed that! Then Michael Weinstock cooked an amazing meal for Carol-Angela, tir Ed, mom and I at his estate home. It was so tasty! We ate after watching the new Tumbler show (so you think you can be a gymnast sort of thing) with Nadia Comaneci, Louis Smith and 2 other judges plus loads of celebrities. The best part was the real British team at the end doing some gymnastics!

Mike Weinstock and I....a real gentleman!

We saw his garden, all crafted himself with walls and bushes, flowers and lights. Really nice. After dinner we talked about the weather and how a massive storm was headed for London tomorrow so that our plan to tour London might not happen.  That’s ok, everything we do is fun!  At their home I gave Carol-Angela and Sir Ed their gifts. They are doing so much for me.
